I love the sunshine!
Here we are, in the middle of May, and my legs are now exposed to the world! It's a scorcher down here on the French Riviera, and the tourists are invading in their thousands!
The amount of hire cars and foreign registered cars has significantly increased, and it's fair to say that there's a LOT of traffic around the usual hotspots...St Tropez, Monaco, Antibes, Sainte Maxime, Frejus, Saint Raphael and the busiest place here at the moment is Cannes. The world media has descended on Cannes for the film festival, as have the martians. Seriously, I was there yesterday and saw men in white suits walking around with live parrots on their shoulders!
Surely, the "stars" and "celebrities" don't really walk around Tesco's with a group of Cuff Talkers and such a huge entourage...so why do it in Cannes? Is it really an ego thing?
They are seemingly happy, and so are the shops around the south of France.
All I know is that the sun is shining, there's a spring in everyone's step, there are sunburnt backs everywhere, the Frenchmen are parading in their Speedo's and the French Ladies are strutting their stuff on the beaches...I love the SUMMER!
